Second explosion-heavy trailer arrives for Battleship

Battleship
Sticking two fingers up at the idea of less being more, Peter Berg’s new Battleship trailer arrives, and it’s chock-full of stuff getting blown up
We bought you the first trailer for Peter Berg’s ‘Is this some kind of a joke?’ movie, Battleship back in July, but it seems the effects people have been hard at work filling the film’s every crevice with explosions, missiles, and gunfire since then.
While Battleship’s debut trailer pushed it as the story of a talented but reckless young Lieutenant [] who falls for the daughter of his Admiral [Brooklyn Decker and  respectively], and who has
to prove himself during an oceanic battle with intergalactic robot-types, this new one is firmly focused on blowing stuff up.
Pointing out the trailer’s similarities to Michael Bay’s Transformers franchise is more or less redundant, as even a blind puppy could see what kind of influence Bay’s space robots movies have had here. Robots, missiles, warships, explosions and comely ladies: tis the magic Hasbro formula. Expect it to make a billion.
Battleship comes to UK cinemas in April. Watch the brand new trailer below.
